![]() I really liked Intuit's Online Payroll (fka Paycycle), they have moved it into QB Online, I tolerate it mostly because I don't want to re-enter staff information, but I am also aware the day is coming when I will change. If you are using QB Desktop payroll, this is a good time to switch, you'd better get moving. For example, I use Invoice Ninja for my invoicing, then use Transaction Pro to import the data into QuickBooks. If point-of-sale system is exporting data to QB, you can use a third party package to import data into QuickBooks. Based on prior experience, that could be 10+ years. I plan on using QB Desktop 2020 until it's impossible to do so. This is a bit like asking "Who do you dislike more: Trump or Hillary?" You are going to get lovers and haters on both side of the fence. Most of my clients are on QBO Essentials or QBO Plus. Simple Start is the lowest I'd go with QBO options. Maybe that's what screwed the books for some commenters on this thread. I don't recommend QBO Self-Employed - that's just crazy-making. ![]() There's QBO and then there's QBO - be sure to know what version/level you're signing up for.Įven Simple Start does more than it used to. I have five more migrations to do (last week! **cough!*) tomorrow. But so far, I've migrated 10 or more clients from desktop to online and all but one of those migrations was as smooth as silk. Since QBO is pretty standard (for better or for worse) it just might. So much better than the clunky old 'Sync with Square' that was not helpful. We are LOVING the new Intuit Square app integration in QBO. We find it easy to use yet robust enough at the same time. ![]() Payroll in QBO (aka QBOP) was lousy at first, as if they released it before it was ready, but they've worked a lot of those kinks out now. Intuit has fixed and improved so much in QBO recently, and it seems they have not been fixing problems in desktop. All 3 bookkeepers prefer QBO over QB Desktop hands down, and our clients hugely prefer it as well. I currently work with 40+ client companies and have employed 3 bookkeepers over the last year. Just 3 or so years ago, I would not have recommended QBO over desktop. ![]()
